Demand for Spacious homes post COVID crisis

The daily work commute is history; ‘Work from Home’ (WFH) is the ‘new normal’. For humankind, coming to grips with life in a world where we co-exist with the Covid-19 pandemic, it translates into a changing paradigm. The requirement now is for homes which provide additional space/ an extra room to power not just WFH, but also ‘study from home’. It is not a situation where just one person needs additional space within the home to work, working couples with children in school face the requirement of larger spaces being needed within the home, for study and work. Given this scenario, making the move to suburban/peripheral areas works out fine for the home seekers. It helps that price-points in suburban/ peripheral locations are a tad lower than central locations, which makes buying a home with an additional room/space is not a major challenge. Suburban homes, especially those in integrated townships and complexes, also offer ‘work from near home’ (WFNH) options, with clubhouses and banquet spaces being pruned in size to accommodate business centers/ work stations for residents. So, there’s an alternative to WFH in form of WFNH – one that is also to be found mostly in projects located in suburban/peripheral locations. It works out well for families who have additional space, within their budget – and in most cases, amidst verdant green open spaces, which is an added bonus in the COVID-19 world.
