Is the game-changing PLI policy benefiting and adding value to the Indian manufacturing sector? Yes it was required to send the right signals to the world and has made a difference to our economy. The various states have become more competitive. It is very positive PLI is producing the desired results. But the investments in PLI are not necessarily employment generating. There are certain other sectors like real estate, infrastructure, textiles, tourism where if investments came they would generate much more employment opportunities per rupee of subsidy given. So such other employing generating sectors should also be given subsidy.
